A Word about the Ending of FTCM.
I’m going to try to do this without spoilers, but that’s probably just not going to happen.
So be warned.
You are either going to love the end of my story , or you’ll be disappointed and NEED a sequel. If you don’t get the ending, that’s my fault as a writer for not making it clearer, and I apologize.
While I was writing FTCM, I didn’t know how it would end. I had big ideas about Joe coming to rescue Larissa from the hospital, and other nonsense that just wouldn’t work. Then one day, while I was helping my husband with a project, I came up with the ending. I had this moment of shock, and of happiness. It was SO not what I was planning on doing, yet it was exactly what the story needed.
When I wrote the end, I wanted to make sure that the reader had that same moment. That moment where it clicks, and you say…"Holy Cow, I can’t believe…(insert spoiler).” Right now, about 1 in 5 people get that moment. I’ve been told the clues are too subtle, that nowhere in the text does it say that the ending is a happy one.
Well, here’s the words…the ending is a happy ending. Keep thinking about it until you figure out how.
If you can’t figure it out, don’t worry. There is a sequel planned.
Larissa and Joe have more adventures to go on together.
